About ABB and the Role

In the role of Electrical Apprentice Field Service Engineer, you will join the Electrification Services Division, working onsite from the Dublin location. This position reports to the Service Team Leader.
The role offers the opportunity to support business operations, collaborate across various teams, and contribute toward ABB's strategic goals. You will be trained locally in Ireland alongside a skilled team of Field Service Engineers, preparing for a dynamic career in electrical engineering and field services.
Role Responsibilities and Training
- Receive comprehensive training in electrical engineering fundamentals and ABB's market approaches.
- Gain expertise in commissioning and starting up equipment, carrying out maintenance tasks, as well as diagnostics and repairs.
- Develop an understanding of both single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
- Participate in formal training sessions aimed at building personal growth and leadership capabilities for future career progression.
- Engage with team-building and social activities to nurture a broad professional network within ABB.
Candidate Requirements
- A strong genuine interest in electrical engineering and a desire to build a career in the engineering sector.
- Completion of Leaving Certificate with at least six subjects, preferably including a pass in ordinary level Mathematics.
- Proficiency in written and spoken communication and competent use of Microsoft Office applications.
- A logical, problem-solving mindset with an ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- A full clean driving license as the role requires travel to customer locations and various ABB sites.
