This position places you at the heart of Amazon's operations, directly involved in managing how products move seamlessly from the moment a customer clicks to delivery at their doorstep. You will engage in designing, refining, and operating systems that connect people, products, and locations on a large scale. Early in the program, you will take on responsibilities, collaborate closely with teams to tackle real-world challenges, and witness the immediate impacts of your decisions in customer deliveries. Program Details

- Academic partner: IU Internationale Hochschule, with over 30 campuses across Germany

- Work locations: More than 20 Amazon sites across Germany, including Fulfillment and Sort Centers
The dual study program is a structured leadership development initiative designed to prepare you progressively for an operational managerial role. Successful graduates can transition directly into an Area Manager position at Amazon without undergoing additional application processes.
Program Phases and Responsibilities
- Phase 1 - Operational Fundamentals: Acquire a deep understanding of the fulfillment center’s operational processes, analyze key performance indicators, and independently implement projects for process improvements.
- Phase 2 - Rotation & Leadership Development: Rotate through various operational departments, gradually assume leadership roles including team lead support, shift scheduling, and personnel management, while cultivating insights into cross-departmental dynamics.
- Phase 3 - Area Manager Level: Function at the level of an Area Manager by managing operational metrics, independently leading teams, and bearing full responsibility for your operational unit.
Support and Community
You will receive comprehensive mentoring and guidance throughout the program. A Learning Manager will be your main contact coordinating your development across all phases, complemented by operational supervisors providing real-time feedback during rotations. Additionally, you will be part of a nationwide community of dual students that facilitates networking and peer growth.
Weekly Schedule
- Two days per week dedicated to university studies at your IU campus, covering topics like logistics, supply chain management, business administration, and personnel leadership.
- Two to three days (approximately 20 hours) per week working hands-on within an Amazon Fulfillment or Sort Center, integrated as an essential team member from day one.

Qualifications
- General university entrance qualification, advanced technical college entrance qualification, or subject-specific university entrance qualification.
- Fluent in German (C1 level) and proficient in English (B2 level) both spoken and written.
- Strong affinity for mathematics.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
