Role Overview
We seek dedicated Domestic Assistants/Porters to join our committed team at Galashiels Health Centre, supporting clinics and various departments with their cleaning and porter requirements.
Work Schedule
The position involves working Monday to Friday, primarily during the hours of 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. The hours may vary. There are two part-time posts of 12.5 hours each.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Demonstrate a strong aptitude in domestic cleaning tasks with attention to detail.
- Show flexibility and adaptability in meeting work demands.
- Adhere to the NHS Borders Behavioural Framework as part of work conduct.
Important Information
- From 1st April 2026, full-time working hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours weekly, with part-time hours adjusted proportionally. Hourly rates will increase correspondingly to maintain pay levels.
- Legislative updates from 1st April 2025 may mandate differing levels of criminal record checks. If assessed as a "regulated role," appointment will be contingent upon enrollment in the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom, verifiable through documentation such as valid visas, or settled/pre-settled EU status.
- Sponsorship via UK Skilled Worker or Health & Care Worker Visa may be available if eligibility and salary criteria are met, subject to employer licensing.
