Role Overview
As Director of Procurement, you will own the sourcing, buying, and supplier management approach that keeps operations moving efficiently across multiple regions. The position focuses on making sure the company secures the right equipment, parts, materials, and services at the best possible value while helping maintain uptime and supporting long-term growth.
This is a practical leadership role that blends strategy with day-to-day execution. You will collaborate with Operations, Fleet, Maintenance, and Finance to improve purchasing methods, strengthen vendor partnerships, lower costs, and support field teams.
What You Will Do
- Create and implement procurement and sourcing plans across the organization.
- Work out contract terms, pricing, and service agreements with suppliers and vendors.
- Develop long-term supplier relationships that improve performance and control costs.
- Find ways to standardize buying practices and increase purchasing leverage.
- Review spend patterns and purchasing data to identify savings and efficiency gains.
- Set up procurement reports, supplier scorecards, and performance tracking measures.
- Partner with Operations, Fleet, Maintenance, and Finance to meet business requirements.
- Oversee vendor onboarding, process upgrades, and workflow improvements in procurement.
- Assist with procurement systems and technology initiatives that improve transparency and productivity.
- Guide teams on procurement best practices and supplier performance expectations.
What We’re Looking For
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, purchasing, or a closely related area.
- Background in sourcing fleet parts, heavy equipment, industrial MRO items, services, or operational materials.
- Proven ability in contract negotiation and supplier management.
- Experience reviewing spend data and spotting cost-saving opportunities.
- Exposure to procurement platforms such as Coupa, SAP, or similar tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Comfort managing several priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in waste management, transportation, logistics, construction, heavy equipment, or similar sectors is preferred.
- Familiarity with TRUX, RTA, Power BI, or comparable systems is preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish or Creole language ability is a plus.
