Position Summary
The Director of Content, reporting to the SVP and Head of Brand, will lead Matouk's content strategy and editorial planning across all brand communications including email marketing, social media platforms, e-commerce, advertising, and B2B marketing channels. This role involves crafting editorial strategies, developing comprehensive content calendars, and creating messaging that advances the brand’s vision and commercial goals. The position also includes managing a Marketing Coordinator who assists in the execution of marketing, content, and editorial efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation and management of annual and seasonal content calendars across multiple channels such as email, social media, e-commerce, advertising, and B2B communications.
- Direct the brand's overall editorial approach ensuring consistent messaging across all customer engagement points.
- Develop and publish branded content on matouk.com including new webpage content, seasonal campaigns, educational articles, and product narratives.
- Innovate editorial concepts and content ideas aligned with brand priorities, product launches, and seasonally relevant stories.
- Manage Matouk’s organic presence on social media platforms including Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Lead internal and external content creators in producing compelling product copy, advertising messages, email campaigns, and other marketing materials.
- Create and manage B2B content supporting hospitality, corporate gifting, wholesale, retail, and trade partners.
- Identify proactive editorial opportunities and handle media inquiries and product-related questions.
- Collaborate closely with Creative, Merchandising, E-commerce, Product Development, Sales, and PR teams to ensure content aligns with business goals and campaign timelines.
- Maintain stewardship of Matouk’s brand voice across all written communications.
- Lead corporate communications initiatives including messaging on Matouk’s heritage, craftsmanship, values, and brand narrative.
- Plan and define creative content requirements, coordinating with the Creative team for photography, video, and content production.
- Optimize the use of digital asset management (DAM) resources to maximize content efficiency across channels.
- Ensure all content is of the highest quality, accurate, and delivered punctually.
Qualifications
- 7 to 10 years of experience designing and implementing editorial content strategies for luxury brands or high-end editorial environments.
- Proven experience managing or mentoring at least one direct report.
- Proficiency with content management systems, email marketing platforms, social media scheduling tools, and digital asset management systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in journalism, communications, creative writing, or marketing/business disciplines.
- Advanced writing and editorial skills with a background in multi-platform content creation including digital, print, and social media.
- Demonstrated expertise in crafting luxury or premium product descriptions and branded storytelling.

- Consistent and cohesive seasonal content strategy seamlessly implemented across website, email, social media, advertising, and B2B communications.
- Delivery of high-quality brand-aligned content on schedule across all customer touchpoints.
- Increase in audience engagement on owned channels and enhanced collaboration among Brand, Creative, Merchandising, and E-commerce teams to meet business objectives.
