Dietitian Nutritionist

Position Overview

This is a permanent full-time role for an HP3 Dietitian within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service, aimed at delivering comprehensive nutrition and dietetic care.

Key Duties

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and provide patient education, tailored interventions, and management plans in coordination with an interprofessional team.
• Offer clinical education, supervise allied health assistants, and support the supervision of undergraduate students.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in research activities under the mentorship of senior staff members.

Work Environment

The position involves rotational work across various clinical settings, including acute inpatient care (covering medical, surgical, oncology, cardiac, renal, and pediatric cases), rehabilitation units, outpatient services, community health, aged care, and outreach to rural health facilities. Flexibility to operate in any of these areas as per service requirements is necessary.
