About Co-operative Housing Ireland
Co-operative Housing Ireland serves as the national body dedicated to representing, promoting, and facilitating co-operative housing initiatives throughout Ireland. Established in 1973, the organisation has successfully facilitated the provision of over 5,700 homes through various ownership and rental co-operative models. Currently, it manages upwards of 6,700 properties nationwide and operates as an Approved Housing Body, collaborating with multiple stakeholders such as local authorities, government entities, prospective homeowners, tenants, and developers.
Role Overview
The Development Officer position is a full-time, permanent role based at the Blanchardstown office in Dublin. The officer will report to the Team Leader of Development Officers within the New Business Development division and will work a standard 35-hour week, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role involves comprehensive involvement in housing development projects from initiation to completion, with a strong focus on securing project funding through stakeholder engagement.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and compile all necessary paperwork for funding submissions, including valuation documents.
- Execute loan applications to relevant bodies such as the Department of Housing, the Housing Finance Agency, and financial institutions.
- Foster and sustain robust relationships with external parties including lenders, local authorities, and the Housing Agency.
- Provide administrative support for ongoing and upcoming development projects to the management team.
- Organise and maintain project documentation including managing data within the Pamwin system.
- Create summary reports on current and prospective development projects for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments like Finance, Policy & Communications, Housing Services, and Community Engagement to address project-related matters.
Candidate Requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven experience in a comparable development or project coordination role.
- Background in accounts, lending, banking, or a similar financial context.
- Familiarity with Approved Housing Bodies or charity-type organisations is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentation capabilities.
- Strong expertise in stakeholder relationship management.
- Advanced proficiency with information technology, especially the Microsoft Office suite.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks.
- Legal permission to work within Ireland.
