Role Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated Design Estimator/Engineer for our Networks Services team in Hamilton, New Zealand. This full-time, permanent position focuses on delivering design and estimation services for electricity distribution projects involving both overhead and underground networks. The role demands collaboration with internal teams, clients, and contractors to produce precise project designs, cost estimates, and documentation, ensuring projects meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design and cost estimation for electricity distribution network projects.
• Prepare quotations, detailed cost assessments, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate necessary resources to assist in project planning and execution.
• Foster and maintain robust relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous process improvements and mentor design team members.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in design and estimation within power distribution networks.
• Strong understanding of both overhead and underground network design and construction methodologies.
• Familiarity with Powerco standards and preferred design software tools such as Neara.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
• Competence with estimating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
