Overview
The Designer I position operates under the direct supervision of the Production Associate or Production Department Manager. This entry-level role focuses on detailed design, drafting, and modeling tasks essential for creating construction documents. The work environment is dynamic and demands resourcefulness, discipline, and meticulous attention to detail. The role offers valuable opportunities to learn company Core Values and adhere to discipline-specific standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed drafting, design, and development plans.
- Produce site-specific construction documents accurately.
- Revise construction documents based on direction.
- Follow established drafting standards rigorously.
- Track project progress and maintain communication.
- Keep logs documenting work completed.
- Monitor time and job status to ensure an efficient work flow.
- Utilize project tracking software proficiently and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with Production Associate and Production Department Manager.
- Optimize the use of available resources to enhance productivity.
- Perform any additional assigned duties as required.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit software is preferred.
- Entry-level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is an advantage.
- Strong critical thinking skills to complete assignments independently.
- A proactive approach with ownership of work and its quality.
- Detail-oriented and driven by task completion.
- Excellent prioritization and communication skills to meet deadlines.
- Friendly and cooperative attitude towards team members.
- Ability to build and sustain collaborative working relationships.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a general office setting. The role involves regular sitting, using hands/fingers, reaching, and communicating. The employee may stand and walk frequently, and is occasionally required to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
