Role Overview
BESIX Watpac is looking for a Design Manager to join the Queensland Construction team in Brisbane. The position plays a central role in supporting excellent project delivery through strong design leadership, coordination, and control.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct consultants to produce high-quality design documentation that is completed on schedule, within budget, and aligned with the project brief.
- Oversee design reviews to confirm compliance with regulations and building requirements.
- Assess design practicality together with the construction team and trade subcontractors to improve delivery efficiency.
- Contribute actively to developing the project delivery methodology.
- Keep design quality management processes in place and effective.
Qualifications and Experience
The role calls for a relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering.
Applicants should have experience working with a principal contractor on large-scale design and construct building projects from start through to completion.
You should be comfortable working with external consultants to achieve the best project outcomes and be able to perform well in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
