Overview
Tesla is seeking a Demand Planning Analyst for Energy Service Material Planning to oversee and enhance demand forecasting for Service Parts and Accessories within its Energy Service Business Unit. This position focuses on boosting forecast precision for crucial commodities and programs, detecting weaknesses in demand planning workflows, and devising innovative strategies that illuminate primary demand influencers across all Service Parts and Accessories categories. The role demands collaboration with diverse teams including Supply Chain, Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering, ensuring timely and accurate demand plans to place the correct service parts at the right location, time, and quantity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain short- and long-term demand forecasts that optimize inventory at global distribution centers, reduce operational costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with Global Supply Managers, Field Operations, Inventory Management, NPI, Production Demand Planning, Reliability Engineering, Service Campaigns, and Marketing to collect data and identify key business drivers affecting future demand.
- Analyze detailed historical consumption data by channel and region, applying advanced statistical models and time series analysis to uncover consumption trends.
- Create statistical computing and graphics programs, leverage advanced supply chain analytics to improve demand forecast processes, identify forecast accuracy enhancements, and offer insights to the Manager of Energy Material Planning and Service Supply Chain leadership.
- Partner with NPI, Reliability Engineering, and Procurement for material End-of-Life (EOL) transition planning aimed at sustaining dependable long-term service while reducing excess inventory and obsolescence.
Candidate Profile
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Industrial or Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent experience with exceptional capability.
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in demand planning, supply chain analytics, or data science in manufacturing or high-volume operations, with proven expertise in consumption-based forecast model development and validation.
- Strong foundation in mathematics and statistics related to Supply Chain or Operations analytics.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and proficiency in SQL; experience with ERP/WRP and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is advantageous.
- Preferred experience working with Python libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
- Capability to handle multiple concurrent projects and reorganize priorities amidst shifting scopes.
- Energetic, passionate, with excellent verbal and written communication skills to influence stakeholders positively.
- Open-minded, collaborative team player who thinks creatively to solve complex problems.
- Self-driven with a strong work ethic and eagerness to engage hands-on in work tasks.
