Data Librarian (Remote)

Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and well-organized Data Librarian to become an integral member of our team. This full-time remote role involves managing and organizing our organisation's data assets with precision and quality to support our mission of turning data into actionable insights. These insights guide us in measuring our impact and enhancing our youth-oriented programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain robust data management systems and procedures that promote efficiency and accuracy.
• Systematically catalogue and organise critical datasets covering programmes, members, donors, and outcomes.
• Maintain data integrity through regular quality assessments and cleansing.
• Act as the main contact for internal data requests, delivering accurate and timely information to staff.
• Support the generation of comprehensive reports, dashboards, and visual presentations to monitor key metrics and communicate impact to stakeholders.
• Oversee database security by managing user access and permissions aligning with data protection standards.
• Train and assist staff in data entry protocols and best practices to foster a culture proficient in data literacy.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated experience in data management, database administration, or information science roles.
• Strong grasp of database architectures, data modelling techniques, and governance principles.
• Skilled in database management and data analysis tools; expertise in SQL is a significant advantage.
• Exceptional organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and oral communication, capable of explaining complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote setting.
• A bachelor's degree in Information Science, Library Science, Computer Science, or a comparable field is preferred.
• Experience in the non-profit sector is an added benefit.
