Descrizione del lavoro

About the Company

Red Energy is a proudly Australian-owned energy company serving more than 1.5 million customers nationwide. Backed by Snowy Hydro, the business is known for delivering standout customer service and has been recognised with 16 straight Canstar Blue awards for overall customer satisfaction among Victorian electricity providers.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join the Reporting & Analysis team on a fixed-term 12-month contract, with a possibility of extension. This role suits someone who enjoys investigating complex problems, shaping business needs into practical technical solutions, and helping teams make better decisions through data. You will work in a fast-moving retail environment and support both operational and regulatory reporting needs.

The position involves working across a mixed data environment that includes traditional relational databases and cloud platforms. A large part of the work will focus on building reliable datasets, creating self-service BI dashboards, and supporting reporting that keeps pace with the requirements of the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to convert business challenges into clear technical requirements and useful insights.
  • Maintain information quality by supporting a trusted single source of truth and reducing data-related risks.
  • Build reports and dashboards that support better decisions and improve the customer experience.
  • Use advanced SQL skills across SQL Server, Oracle, and cloud-based systems to improve reporting logic and build scalable, efficient datasets.
  • Support data governance efforts and help design data structures that can adapt as the organisation grows.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external regulators to deliver reporting that is accurate, compliant, and forward-looking.
  • Lead the full delivery cycle for data initiatives, dashboards, and reporting solutions.

About You

You are a thoughtful analyst who brings context to numbers, not just outputs. You combine technical capability with conceptual thinking and can connect data work to wider business outcomes.

Experience with Python is useful, though not essential. Knowledge of the energy or utilities sector would be an advantage, but the ability to quickly understand commercial priorities is more important.

You should also be comfortable using BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker, and you will need strong communication skills to build productive relationships with internal stakeholders. Interest in AI and advanced analytics within an enterprise environment is also valued.

Qualifications and Experience

A relevant degree is required, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Data Science. The role is intended for an experienced professional who can operate confidently in a complex reporting environment.

Why Join Red Energy

  • Work in a team guided by the values of Safety, Agility, Decency, Courage, Ownership, and Teamwork.
  • Enjoy a hybrid arrangement with 2 days working from home.
  • Receive 30 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Have the option to buy up to 4 additional weeks of annual leave each year.
  • Access unlimited learning resources through LinkedIn Learning for ongoing professional development.
  • Be part of a lively, dog-friendly office in Cremorne focused on growth and development.
  • Take advantage of employee discounts and benefits such as novated leasing, private health insurance corporate rates, and offers on technology, travel, and more.

Additional Information

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential to be extended. Applications are being reviewed as they arrive.

Benefits

The role includes a hybrid working setup, generous parental leave, extra leave purchase options, learning access, workplace culture perks, and a range of employee discounts.
