About the opportunity
An organization in Australia is seeking an early-career Data Analyst to support decision-making through careful data collection, analysis, and reporting. This role suits someone who is detail-focused, eager to learn, and interested in growing practical experience in analytics.
What you'll do
- Gather information from multiple sources, then tidy, structure, and prepare it for analysis.
- Examine datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable business findings.
- Build reports, dashboards, and visual summaries using analytics tools.
- Help preserve data accuracy and overall data quality.
- Provide data-backed recommendations to support business teams.
- Work with colleagues on analytics initiatives and improvements to processes.
- Record analysis approaches and outcomes in a clear, organized way.
What we're looking for
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Foundational understanding of data analysis concepts and basic statistics.
- Exposure to Microsoft Excel and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is an advantage.
- Introductory knowledge of SQL or Python is helpful.
- Good communication skills and a sharp eye for detail.
- Ability to work alone when needed and also contribute well in a team.
- Motivation to learn and develop a career in data analytics.
Qualifications
- A diploma or bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a similar discipline is preferred.
- Past internship work, academic projects, or prior data analysis experience would be an added advantage.
- Comfort with SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or Python is beneficial.
Working arrangement
The position can be arranged as full-time or part-time, and the role is based onsite in Australia.
