Job description

About the Role

Wagga Wagga City Council is looking for a motivated and skilled Customer Service Team Leader to lead the frontline customer service team supporting its leisure, fitness, and recreation venues. This permanent full-time position offers the opportunity to take charge of service quality, financial and operational coordination, and community engagement across multiple facilities in Wagga Wagga, NSW.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Wagga Leisure Customer Service Team to deliver excellent customer service across all associated facilities.
  • Coordinate bookings for leisure venues, sports grounds, lighting, parks, halls, community centers, and banners.
  • Supervise financial and administrative processes including cash handling, receipting, reconciliations, petty cash, and purchase orders.
  • Manage merchandise stores by setting sales targets, ordering inventory, executing promotional campaigns, and training staff.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as mail processing, travel arrangements, and database upkeep.
  • Operate and maintain leisure management software, providing training and support to staff when required.
  • Draft and prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, meeting agendas, and minutes.
  • Assist with organizing and managing workshops and events, and support team completion of administrative documentation.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Qualifications in Business Administration, Marketing, or Customer Service are essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial administration, cash handling, and customer service roles.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams effectively.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent planning, time management, and computer proficiency.
  • Commitment to outstanding service delivery, continuous process improvement, and workplace safety.
  • Possession of current CPR and First Aid certificates.
  • Valid Working With Children Check and police clearance (National Police/Criminal History Check).
  • Class C Driver’s License is required.

Additional Information

  • The role entails a 38-hour workweek in a full-time capacity with a salary range of approximately $90,401 to $108,481 annually plus superannuation at 12%.
