Role Description

Candidates will be charged with ensuring the safety, security, and humane treatment of individuals under supervision. Reporting to Custodial Supervisors and the Operations Manager, the position is part of an expanding team responding to evolving operational needs.

Main Duties

  • Manage daily routines and operations within the Watch House environment
  • Oversee court cell management and escort detainees to and from court appearances
  • Conduct secure transportation of detainees to courts, medical facilities, hospitals, and custody centers
  • Maintain vigilant security monitoring, risk management and welfare oversight of patients in hospital bedsit settings

Accurate record keeping is critical: this includes detailed verbal and written reports on detainee information, assessments, incidents, and transportation logs, all in line with legal standards.

Work Schedule and Compensation

The role operates on a 24/7 roster with varied shifts across justice service sites. Compensation can reach up to $85,000 annually. Base hourly rates and penalty rates are as follows:

  • Nights: $39.96/hr
  • Saturdays: $52.12/hr
  • Sundays: $69.49/hr
