Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of Total Quality Management by enhancing associates' capabilities in quality processes and evaluating process and equipment effectiveness through validations and monitoring.
  • Ensure adherence to manufacturing procedures, quality control activities, KORE & ISO standards, GMP, and local regulations by developing SOPs and providing timely technical support and decisions regarding quality issues, product integrity, and customer complaint resolutions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and governed documentation system for company processes aligned with required standards and company policies.
  • Assess and approve new packaging materials for suitability, including managing all related quality documentation.

Process Quality Tasks

  • Keep plant operations aligned with current KORE standards, regulations, quality methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Regularly conduct risk assessments on critical processes to reduce failure risks impacting product quality.
  • Train associates to incorporate quality assurance principles into daily operations.
  • Validate equipment and processes, continually ensuring compliance with the highest GMP standards.
  • Create and maintain a technical information library for easy access to validation reports and plant data following commissioning.
  • Enforce compliance with Standard Manufacturing Instructions (SMI) during production.
  • Guide associates in root cause analysis and problem-solving to prevent recurring quality issues.
  • Support corrective and preventive actions related to production defect reports (PDR), total defect quality (TDQ), and manufacturing problem analyses.
  • Conduct process validations and capability studies, address deficiencies in production equipment as per KORE standards.
  • Authorize manufacturing equipment for use post-maintenance activities such as calibration and servicing.
  • Review processes for potential elimination of non-value-added activities by implementing operational excellence methods.
  • Evaluate analysis related to auxiliary materials and processing aids against regulatory requirements to approve suppliers.

Plant GMP and Security Management

  • Consistently monitor and uphold stringent Good Manufacturing Practices and effective plant security programs.
  • Oversee execution of GMP programs in general facilities via contractors and within manufacturing by on-site GMP housekeeping staff.
  • Manage pest control and housekeeping programs by supervising contractor and in-house staff to ensure full GMP compliance.

Quality Management System & Change Leadership

  • Lead quality- and food safety-related change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption, adherence, and stakeholder cooperation.
  • Implement and optimize Quality systems such as KORE and ISO, recommending improvements inspired by food and pharmaceutical industry experiences.
  • Support the continuous development and auditing of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems.
  • Participate actively in internal audits to enhance and maintain plant quality systems and operational practices.
  • Manage key elements of the Integrated Management System to maintain compliance with ISO and KORE standards.

Packaging Development and Inspection

  • Collaborate with Asian packaging specialists to onboard new suppliers supporting capacity expansion and new equipment/process introductions.
  • Continuously improve packaging materials to enhance plant performance as measured by TDQ and On-Time In-Full (OTIF) metrics, ensuring material specification compliance before use.
  • Gather and verify packaging data to maintain accuracy and completeness in relevant plant databases.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in quality assurance roles within the food, beverage, or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Strong understanding of ISO standards and food safety quality systems; familiarity with KORE standards is advantageous.
  • Knowledgeable in concentrate manufacturing, quality systems, project management, GMP, and skilled in problem solving, strategic planning, organization, and execution.
  • Awareness of local food regulatory laws and compliance requirements.
