Position Details
- Location: 98 Monk St, Chapleau, Ontario (remote delivery run starting and ending at Chapleau depot)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 11:00 am to 7:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid break, totaling 40 hours per week
- Compensation: $22.18 per hour, increasing to $25.12 after three months as per collective bargaining agreement
Role Summary
The Courier will be tasked with the collection and delivery of customer packages according to daily schedules, scanning parcels during receipt, delivery, and return procedures, and addressing any issues encountered on the route in coordination with Dispatch and clients. Additionally, the role involves conducting vehicle inspections both before and after the route using electronic tools.
Responsibilities
- Collect and deliver packages to fulfill daily route requirements
- Perform package and mail scanning during receipt, delivery, and at day’s end return to depot
- Troubleshoot and resolve delivery challenges in cooperation with Dispatch and customers
- Carry out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using package scanners and an electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent completion
- Completion of relevant vocational courses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Minimum of three years driving experience with a clean driver's abstract and capability to operate delivery vehicles
