About the Role
Zof AI is looking for a Conversation Designer based in Accra, Ghana. This full-time role places you at the junction of design, product, and AI engineering to craft how AI interacts with users, focusing on tone, conversational flow, and managing uncertainty. Your work will directly influence the trust users place in AI by meticulously designing responses for when the AI is confident, uncertain, or incorrect.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop conversational behaviors for Zof AI products, including tone, personality, and interaction flow.
- Design responses that gracefully handle uncertainty, such as hedging, querying, or escalation.
- Collaborate with AI engineers to write and test system prompts and response guidelines.
- Plan seamless human hand-off moments to ensure escalation feels safe and natural.
- Analyze real conversation transcripts to refine dialogue and improve system behavior.
- Work alongside the evaluation team to quantify conversation quality metrics.
- Maintain a consistent, coherent voice across all product surfaces and communication channels.
- Continuously elevate the quality of product communication under various conditions.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in conversation design, UX writing, or content design.
- Practical understanding of large language model (LLM) behavior and potential failure modes.
- Strong mastery of tone, clarity, and consistent voice.
- Ability to prototype and test interactive conversational flows.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with engineers in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Adaptability to fast-paced, evolving workplace settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing chatbots, virtual agents, or voice interfaces.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering or crafting system prompts.
- Background in linguistics, writing, or human-computer interaction.
- Experience creating flows focused on trust, safety, or escalation protocols.

Compensation Details
Salary ranges between GHS 3,000 and GHS 6,000 per month along with significant equity participation. The complete living package including housing, meals, equipment, and wellness benefits is provided where applicable.
