Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities to prepare accurate financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Collaborate with leadership to create annual budgets, input data into budgeting software, monitor expenses versus budget, and analyze variances.
  • Establish, enforce, and update internal accounting policies to protect assets, reduce risks, and prevent fraud.
  • Oversee and mentor the accounting team responsible for payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Act as primary liaison for external auditors and ensure strict adherence to tax laws and regulations including preparation of 1099 and W-2 forms.
  • Develop and submit indirect cost proposals to federal agencies for government contracts.
  • Participate in contract negotiations with third-party payers.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess advanced knowledge of GAAP or IFRS accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in sophisticated ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics GP, along with financial close management software.
  • Strong analytical and strategic capabilities to interpret financial data and provide insights to enhance operational efficiencies and profitability.
  • Required educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

Compensation and Work Schedule

  • Starting salary at $45 per hour, adjusted based on experience and education.
  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional hours as necessary.
