About the Role
As a Control Room Officer at Unitywater based in Maroochydore, Queensland, you will be integral in overseeing and coordinating the operation of potable water, recycled water, sewer reticulation, and operational technology systems around the clock. Your duties will include real-time monitoring, efficient dispatch of reactive maintenance and service requests, assisting field teams, and ensuring timely restoration of services while upholding regulatory and safe drinking water standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous situational awareness during 24/7 operations of water and wastewater services.
- Dispatch maintenance and service interventions promptly to support field teams.
- Collaborate closely with Operations Planning and Field Services to optimize resource use and minimize customer impact.
- Manage operational risks and maintain compliance with health, safety, and regulatory obligations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of incidents and service activities.
Candidate Profile
- Experience working in fast-paced 24/7 environments requiring critical thinking and prompt decision-making.
- Proven capability in monitoring operations, effectively prioritizing tasks and dispatching work to meet service standards.
- Exceptional communication skills supporting positive relationships with internal teams, contractors, and customers.
- Proficiency with operational and maintenance management systems, including GIS and CMMS.
- Highly organized, resilient, and able to manage multiple priorities while remaining calm under pressure.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety, regulatory compliance, and supporting safe drinking water protocols.

Additional Information
This maximum term contract runs until January 2027, with potential extension. Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and undergo pre-employment checks including criminal history, driver’s license verification, driving history, and substance screening.
