Jackbox Games is a mid-sized game development studio famous for the Jackbox Party Pack franchise, including titles like Quiplash and Trivia Murder Party. Their games have garnered widespread attention, featured on platforms such as The Tonight Show, Nintendo Direct, and major live events, engaging over 200 million users worldwide.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Contract Video Editor to join the marketing team. This role involves crafting promotional trailers, cutdowns, and advertisements to elevate awareness of our games. The contract runs from early September to mid-November, with an hourly wage ranging between $40 and $55, depending on experience. The initial workload is approximately 10 hours weekly with potential for increase.
Key Responsibilities
- Create promotional content for Jackbox Games' products and website.
- Conceptualize, edit, and refine trailers and promotional videos from initial assembly to final output.
- Produce shorter versions of existing marketing materials, such as cutting a 60-second commercial into 30- and 15-second spots with minimal guidance.
- Manage lengthy raw live-action footage, organizing gameplay recordings, and selecting the best scenes.
- Deliver finalized videos in both horizontal and vertical formats suitable for various platforms.
- Coordinate with the Marketing Producer to ensure all advertising content receives necessary approvals internally and from platform representatives.
Ideal Qualifications
- Minimum of five years professional experience editing premium marketing videos in multiple formats.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premiere and familiarity with the entire Adobe Creative Suite.
- Competency in basic motion graphics and design principles.
- Strong sense of timing, structure, energy, rhythm, and a playful, humorous approach to content.
- Ability to make confident creative decisions and stay in tune with social media trends by proposing innovative content ideas.
- Excellent organizational skills to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
- Collaborative team player able to work independently and interact across all departments.
- Proactive, entrepreneurial attitude favoring a hands-on, efficient work style without micromanagement.
