About the Organization and Location

Join Ballina Shire Council, located on the picturesque Far North Coast of New South Wales, just 20 minutes from Byron Bay and an hour from the Gold Coast. This vibrant coastal community offers pristine beaches, lush rainforest retreats, and hinterland escapes, making it an ideal area to live and work.

Role Overview

The Council is seeking a proactive and skilled team member to become part of their Concrete Construction and Drainage team. The role involves executing a broad range of labouring and concreting activities that support the maintenance and construction of infrastructure such as footpaths, cycleways, kerbing and guttering, drainage setups, and other concrete structures.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

  • Adhere to and embody Council's core values including creativity, accessibility, respect, energy, and safety.
  • Apply demonstrated proficiency in all concreting tasks, covering formwork preparation, pouring concrete, and screeding or finishing surfaces.
  • Carry out diverse physical labour activities related to road, roadside, and infrastructure maintenance and construction.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Operate various minor plant machinery and tools safely and efficiently.

  • Annual salary ranging from $59,700 to $68,600, plus an additional 12% superannuation, based on qualifications and experience.
