Position Summary
The company seeks a mid-level Construction Estimator to manage the estimation and take-off processes supporting the pre-construction pipeline. This role involves close collaboration with the Pre-Construction Manager as well as directors, architects, and trade partners. This position offers a visible and influential role within the growing business, beyond mere number crunching.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates and quotes for architectural residential projects using Buildxact or an equivalent estimating software.
- Perform precise take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings.
- Procure and manage pricing from tradespeople and suppliers effectively.
- Assist with pre-construction tasks including scope definition, allowance setting, and preparation of tender documents.
- Collaborate with joinery and product selection teams to generate consistent and comprehensive quotes.
- Contribute ideas to refine estimating templates, procedures, and systems continuously.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses 3 to 6 years’ experience estimating in residential construction, preferably in renovation or architectural build projects.
- Proficient with Buildxact or similar estimating platforms.
- Excellent drawing interpretation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication capabilities with trades, suppliers, and clients.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and thrives in a small team environment with high visibility of work.
- Having a background in trade or construction is advantageous but not mandatory.
