Role overview

The Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association is hiring a Community Support Coordinator for Kent. In this role, you will guide and strengthen a volunteer team so that support is safe, inclusive, and focused on the individual.

You will partner with health and social care professionals, multidisciplinary teams, local organisations, and volunteers to help people affected by MND access the right information, services, and practical support.

At the MND Association, the aim is to improve care, support, and quality of life for people living with MND. This position is an important part of making sure support reaches people at the right time.

What you'll do

  • Recruit, lead, develop, and support a network of Community Support Volunteers.
  • Handle enquiries and referrals, share relevant information, and connect people to suitable help.
  • Develop strong working links with health and social care professionals, hospices, and community partners.
  • Help volunteer groups and local branches understand community needs and respond effectively.
  • Bring volunteers, staff, and outside stakeholders together to work collaboratively.
  • Support the delivery of safe, inclusive services while following safeguarding and organisational requirements.
  • Work alongside regional colleagues on awareness, fundraising, and campaigning activity.
  • Track activity, keep records accurate, and contribute to service improvement.
  • Spot unmet local needs and help shape better support provision.
  • Encourage clear communication and strong engagement across the volunteer network.
