Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled CNC Machine Operator to efficiently set up and run CNC turning and machining centers. The operator will be responsible for tool selection, machine programming, production monitoring, quality inspections, and routine machine maintenance while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare CNC turning and machining centers for new productions by selecting appropriate tools, setting offsets, clamping fixtures, and loading materials.
  • Validate, load, and execute CNC programs (G-code and M-code) according to job specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust machine parameters such as feed and spindle speeds during operations to maintain optimal performance.
  • Conduct initial piece inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy before starting full-scale production runs.
  • Carry out scheduled job changeovers efficiently, minimizing downtime and following established procedures.
  • Use precise measuring instruments for in-process and final inspections to confirm part quality and compliance with drawings and GD&T requirements.
  • Recognize and document any non-conforming components, immediately informing supervisors and tagging defective parts accordingly.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records following ISO 9001:2015 protocols for both first and last pieces.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance, including lubrication, coolant checks, chip removal, and filter cleaning, in line with machine maintenance schedules.
  • Report unusual machine noises or performance issues promptly to maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure the workspace around machines is tidy and adheres to 5S workplace organization standards.
  • Handle cutting tools and fixtures carefully to reduce breakage and material waste.
  • Maintain production documentation such as job cards, shift outputs, and tool change logs accurately.
  • Comply with all safety measures on the shop floor including personal protective equipment and machine guarding.
  • Participate in daily briefings and communicate any challenges or quality concerns with the team leader.
  • Carry out additional tasks as directed by supervisors or plant management.

Candidate Profile

  • Preferably holds an ITI certification in Machinist, Turner, or Fitter from a recognized institution.
  • Diploma holders in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited polytechnic are also considered eligible.
  • Formal apprenticeship experience at a manufacturing company is advantageous.
  • Possesses 2 to 5 years of practical experience operating CNC turning or machining centers in production settings.
