Role Overview

The Cleaner Technician position is a full-time, on-site role located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will be responsible for various cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing different areas such as washrooms, kitchens, shared spaces, and offices in accordance with company protocols. Tasks also involve replenishing cleaning supplies, managing waste and recycling disposal, and safely operating cleaning tools and chemicals. The role requires adherence to specific schedules and checklists, communication of maintenance or safety concerns, and professional interactions with both clients and colleagues. Evening or weekend work might be necessary based on client demands.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient in general cleaning tasks like sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom sanitation while maintaining consistent quality.
• Knowledgeable about the safe handling of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and use of personal protective equipment, considering health and safety regulations.
• Strong organizational skills to effectively follow cleaning schedules, checklists, and orderly prioritization of duties.
• Dependable, punctual, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team, with a professional and customer-oriented approach.
• Physically able to stand for long intervals, bend, lift moderate weights, and transport cleaning tools and materials as necessary.
• Previous experience in commercial or residential cleaning is advantageous but not essential as on-the-job training can be provided.
• Basic communication skills to understand instructions, accurately complete logs or reports, and maintain respectful client and coworker interactions.
• High school education or equivalent preferred; candidates must be authorized to work in Canada and flexible to accommodate varied shift timings.
