Civil Engineer - Quality Assurance and Quality Control

Job Overview

We are seeking a Civil Engineer specializing in Quality Assurance and Quality Control to join a reputed construction company in Dubai. The engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality standards throughout the project lifecycle to ensure compliance with contract documents and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
• Verify that all site activities conform to approved drawings, technical specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Carry out inspections and approvals for construction materials including cement, steel, aggregates, and concrete.
• Evaluate and validate Material Submittals, Method Statements, and Shop Drawings.
• Liaise effectively with consultants, contractors, and site engineers to coordinate inspections and quality processes.
• Initiate and resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as part of quality control procedures.
• Conduct on-site quality checks and prepare comprehensive inspection reports.
• Oversee structural construction activities ensuring proper execution of footings, columns, beams, slabs, and related works.
• Inspect reinforcement placement for compliance with approved plans prior to concreting.
• Observe and document field tests such as slump, cube, and soil compaction tests.
• Maintain thorough and accurate quality documentation including records and checklists.
• Supervise concrete pouring and ensure correct curing practices are followed.
• Adhere to safety policies and quality control standards on site.
• Detect and address quality concerns, recommending corrective and preventative measures.
• Conduct internal quality audits and organize site quality meetings.
• Ensure calibration of equipment and testing instruments is current and accurate.
• Monitor the workmanship and quality performance of subcontractors.
• Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
• Ensure compliance with applicable ISO quality standards.
• Support the handover process of completed works with complete and proper documentation.
