Role Overview
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) plays a critical high-level leadership role responsible for managing day-to-day operations, driving business execution, improving organizational efficiency, and implementing strategic plans. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO is integral to strategic planning, decision-making, and organizational advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the company's overall operational strategies, mid- and long-term plans, and annual operational blueprints.
- Translate CEO and Board directives into actionable operations plans and establish execution pathways and milestones.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive operational management framework including processes, policies, and standards; promote organizational maturity and operational excellence culture.
- Take full charge of daily business operations, managing KPIs, OKRs, financials, efficiency, and delivery quality to stimulate ongoing growth and improvements.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among departments such as sales, marketing, product, R&D, supply chain, finance, and HR; optimize resources and resolve organizational challenges.
- Lead significant strategic and transformational projects, including digital transformation initiatives and process refinements, ensuring execution within budget and risk parameters.
- Continuously improve operational workflows and cost management strategies through lean practices and resource optimization.
- Drive enterprise-wide digital transformation by integrating ERP, CRM, analytics, and automation technologies to bolster operational effectiveness.
- Implement robust risk management and governance frameworks to maintain compliance, manage operational risks, and ensure business continuity.
- Build and nurture a high-performing operations leadership team with a focus on talent development and cultivating a culture of performance, customer focus, and continuous enhancement.
Qualifications
- At least a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering Management, Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Management, or related fields; advanced management degrees such as MBA, EMBA, or Executive Master's are preferred.
- More than 20 years of experience in corporate operations or management roles, with 8 to 15 years in senior leadership positions like VP of Operations, Senior Operations Director, General Manager, or Regional President.
- Proven experience managing large enterprise operations, multinational corporations, or rapidly growing businesses with expertise in strategy execution, transformation, process optimization, and large-scale operational oversight.
