Role Summary
The Chief Clinical Officer position is a full-time, on-site role located in Harare, Zimbabwe. This executive role entails comprehensive oversight of clinical operations, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and quality of care organization-wide. The incumbent will develop and implement clinical policies, protocols, and programs that comply with regulatory requirements while driving organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the multidisciplinary clinical teams to coordinate and optimize clinical workflows.
- Develop and oversee clinical policies and programs that align with evidence-based practices and organizational goals.
- Monitor clinical performance metrics and spearhead continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Support the integration of behavioral health services within clinical care pathways.
- Provide strategic guidance on clinical program development and service expansion.
- Mentor clinical leaders and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ensure clinical services adhere to ethical standards, inclusivity, and are patient-focused.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Clinical expertise in Medicine and Critical Care Medicine emphasizing patient-centered and evidence-based care.
- Experience in Nursing Management including team leadership, oversight of staffing, and clinical quality assurance.
- Skilled in designing, implementing, and evaluating clinical programs and service lines.
- Proven experience in behavioral health integration within clinical settings.
- Advanced clinical degree such as MD, DO, MBChB or advanced nursing degree with relevant board certifications or professional registration.
- Prior senior-level leadership experience in healthcare or health service organizations.
- Strong capabilities in strategic healthcare planning, operations management, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills with a dedication to inclusive, non-discriminatory care.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and proficiency with healthcare technologies and data-informed decision-making.
