Role Description

We are seeking a Casual Programme Assistant who will be a welcoming presence during morning or afternoon sessions, primarily in the afternoons. As a reliever, you will be scheduled on an as-needed basis, offering flexibility while making meaningful contributions to the children's experiences.

Working Hours

• Afternoon/After School shifts typically run from 2:30pm to 6:00pm; being available from 2:30pm is essential, with finish times possibly varying.
• Occasional school holiday programme shifts may be available between 7:00am and 6:00pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist Tamariki during diverse, enjoyable, and safe activities.
• Maintain clean, organized, and inviting spaces for children.
• Support Programme Managers in delivering energetic, smooth-running sessions that engage children.
• Monitor behaviour, wellbeing, and safety issues, reporting concerns to the Programme Manager to ensure support.

Qualifications and Eligibility

• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand (valid visa or citizenship).
• Access to reliable transportation or a vehicle to reach the Fendalton, Bishopdale, Selwyn House, and Addington sites.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for working with children, which can include experience such as babysitting, coaching, or volunteering.
• Dependability, energy, and a commitment to making each session special.
