Cashier

Position Overview

The Cashier role is essential for delivering quick, friendly, precise, and safe service at checkout points. This position includes handling purchases and returns, overseeing the Self-Checkout stations, and actively gaining product knowledge to assist customers and identify opportunities to promote sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions at checkout and handle returns efficiently.
• Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operation.
• Acquire and utilize product/project knowledge to assist customers and recognize selling opportunities.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures to prevent inventory shrinkage.
• If assigned as Head Cashier, arrange and position Cashiers, expedite price checks, approve POS transactions and markdowns across registers and service areas including Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Provide first-level assistance for resolving customer issues.
• Support training and coaching of new and existing Front End Associates, utilizing company tools to develop team skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience of one year or more in a cashier role is preferred for those in a Head Cashier position.
