Job description
Role Overview
The Back of House team member plays a crucial part in preparing meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring consistent, high-quality food service that exceeds customer expectations. This position supports the daily kitchen operations and contributes to a positive customer experience by delivering dishes that meet menu standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Serve customers promptly, efficiently, and with attention to care.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene practices, including maintaining daily records.
- Implement first in, first out (FIFO) stock management to ensure freshness of food items.
- Receive deliveries and manage secure and safe storage of food supplies.
- Comply with all operational policies and standard procedures.
- Prepare, cook, and serve food in accordance with café guidelines.
- Uphold food quality standards and ensure availability of menu items.
- Develop thorough knowledge of the café menu and serve offerings as specified.
- Handle and resolve customer complaints, escalating issues to the Café Manager when necessary.
- Stay informed on company communications and participate in new initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
- A strong dedication to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Understanding of Health and Safety standards applicable to kitchen environments.
- Ability to work efficiently while keeping workspaces clean and orderly.
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills and a proactive approach.
- Capable of multitasking and performing well in high-pressure situations.
- Initiative to contribute ideas for improving operational workflows.
- Effective planning abilities and organizational skills.
