Role Summary
The Buyer will procure materials, equipment, supplies, and services necessary for advanced manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities include coordinating with cross-functional teams, demonstrating excellent organizational skills, handling inventory management, scheduling deliveries, engaging in supplier negotiations, and securing critical resources that transform innovative concepts into products for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain uninterrupted supply chains to support manufacturing efficiency and quality by managing pull-in and push-out requests based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
- Lead interdisciplinary teams to resolve supply chain issues in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, program management, and supplier account management.
- Oversee purchasing activities to ensure acquisitions are cost-effective while balancing quality, reliability, and urgency.
- Drive initiatives to reduce inventory levels and eliminate excess and obsolete stock.
- Coordinate assigned purchasing projects, managing costs, timelines, and scopes.
- Handle sensitive and complex information shared with suppliers and internal partners carefully.
- Contribute to enhancing purchasing processes and serve as a trainer for department procurement protocols.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Two to four years of relevant procurement or purchasing experience.
- Strong conceptual and practical knowledge in their domain with foundational understanding of related functions.
- Awareness of industry best practices and competitive landscape.
- Demonstrates leadership by mentoring colleagues and managing small-scale projects with manageable risks.
- Skilled at solving complex problems using diverse information sources and applying sound judgment.
- Ability to communicate sensitive or complex information effectively and foster consensus.
