Job Summary

We seek an experienced Buyer to perform mid-level procurement tasks within the sports and apparel sector. This role acts as a key liaison among internal teams such as Sales, Finance, and Production to align purchasing practices with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical prowess with purchasing expertise to manage suppliers, assist with contracts, and resolve routine operational issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire purchase order process including creation, shipment tracking, and addressing logistics challenges.
• Conduct extensive data entry for creating purchase orders and completing complex supplier documentation.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels by monitoring stock and forecasting future requirements to avoid shortages or excess.
• Oversee departmental budgets and audit invoices to ensure accuracy and maximize return on investment.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure procurement initiatives support business goals and internal customers.
• Ensure ethical sourcing by auditing supplier labor and environmental practices to uphold corporate standards.
• Resolve standard procurement and supply chain issues by applying established procedures and experience.
• Serve as a primary communication conduit, providing clear oral and written updates to suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
• 4 to 5 years of relevant procurement experience, ideally within sports or apparel industries.
• Deep knowledge of purchasing methods, supply chain logistics, and vendor evaluation.
• Strong business acumen combined with excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Customer oriented with strong vendor relationship management experience.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and standard office software applications.
• Preferred attributes include data-driven problem-solving, negotiation skills, organizational excellence, proactive planning, attention to detail, teamwork, ethical sourcing commitment, and enthusiasm for major sports leagues.

Additional Information

The expected salary range is $50,000 to $60,000 annually. Pay is subject to variations based on qualifications, experience, location, and job demands.
