About the Role

The role focuses on attracting, onboarding, and managing borrowing customers within the Micro-SME segment, including Kua Nasi, Agriculture, and La Riba. The main objective is to expand a high-quality loan portfolio while following the bank’s credit policy and product procedure guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Growth and Customer Acquisition

  • Bring eligible borrowing customers into the portfolio in line with the relevant product procedures.
  • Track leads and sales pipelines so that opportunities move forward within the agreed turnaround time.
  • Identify, assess, and negotiate lending opportunities with both existing and prospective customers.
  • Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the bank’s position is clearly represented and protected.

Credit Underwriting

  • Receive credit applications and verify that all required documents are complete and compliant with the checklist.
  • Work with CRC members to ensure qualifying customers are visited for validation of business details and collateral.
  • Evaluate Micro-SME credit applications to assess repayment capacity and creditworthiness according to product manuals.
  • Confirm that all applications submitted to head office have been reviewed and discussed by the CRC as required.
  • Handle feedback, questions, and clarifications raised by head office together with the CRC, while staying within procedure.

Loan Portfolio Management

  • Make sure approved loans comply with the sanctioned terms and conditions.
  • Carry out post-disbursement visits to check fund usage and take action where the funds are used differently from the approved purpose.
  • Conduct customer visits and prepare reports according to bank guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records and proper documentation for all approved credit files at branch level.
  • Support timely renewal or refinancing of eligible facilities.
  • Review portfolio performance and recommend interventions to meet agreed indicators and targets.
  • Assist the branch in implementing turnaround and recovery actions to improve portfolio quality.

Deposit Mobilization and Cross-Selling

  • Mobilize deposits from both new and existing Micro-SME customers across the KUA NASI, NBC Shambani, and La Riba segments.
  • Promote and sell the bank’s existing and newly introduced products and services.
  • Act as a coordination point between internal teams and external stakeholders.

Capacity Building and Advisory Support

  • Run group marketing and training sessions for both potential and existing customers.
  • Deliver product awareness sessions for branches and external audiences.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships on behalf of the bank.
  • Advise customers on business and lending needs and help structure suitable credit solutions.

Reporting and Meetings

  • Attend CRC, delinquency, and collections meetings whenever required by management.
  • Prepare and submit standard periodic reports and any additional reports requested by management.
