Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Business Development Manager specializing in Golf and Sporting Groups to join our team at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort, renowned for one of Australia's iconic golf courses. This role centers on driving business growth and establishing our properties as preferred destinations for golf and sporting groups by cultivating strong client connections and pursuing new business prospects.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft and implement effective sales strategies aimed at expanding golf and sporting group clientele.
• Identify, engage, and nurture relationships with stakeholders including golf clubs, sports organisations, schools, and leisure travel segments.
• Proactively seek out new business opportunities through networking, targeted outreach, and customized proposals.
• Work closely with resort operations, events, revenue management, and marketing to curate exceptional group experiences.
• Act as a representative for our properties at relevant industry events, trade shows, and golf tournaments.
• Organize and lead client meetings and site inspections while ensuring CRM and sales records are current and accurate.
• Forge strategic collaborations with tourism and sporting entities to increase group bookings and overall revenue.

Qualifications and Skills

• Between two to four years of business development or sales experience; preferably in golf, hospitality, tourism, or sporting sectors.
• Demonstrated success in meeting sales goals and expanding key client accounts.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
• A proactive and self-driven attitude coupled with a commitment to delivering superior customer service.
• Professional demeanor and a genuine passion for golf and sporting events.
