Role Overview
AmeriLux is seeking a Business Analyst to transform retail sales data into actionable business strategies. This role involves analyzing sales, inventory, and return information from a broad network of retail partners to drive sales growth, enhance profit margins, minimize returns, and optimize inventory levels. The Analyst will collaborate closely with departments including Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations, and Supply Chain. Success will be measured by the tangible business improvements influenced by your insights rather than the volume of reports generated.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze point-of-sale, sales, inventory, and returns data from partners such as Home Depot, Lowe's, Menards, Do it Best, True Value, Ace, House-Hasson, ILDC, RONA, and Home Hardware.
- Develop dashboards and reports to highlight trends, uncover new opportunities, and identify potential risks.
- Conduct thorough investigations into returns to determine primary causes like product defects, shipping damage, packaging errors, or content issues.
- Assess products based on sales, margins, turnover rates, and customer feedback to suggest modifications to assortment, product improvements, or discontinuations.
- Evaluate the impact of promotional activities and contribute to shaping future merchandising strategies.
- Analyze inventory management, forecast accuracy, and system configurations to improve product availability and minimize excess stock.
- Monitor competitor pricing and broader market trends to uncover opportunities for growth.
- Track and communicate critical performance indicators, including sales growth, gross margin, inventory turnover, fill rates, returns, and in-stock performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Analytics, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
- Between 3 to 5 years of experience in retail analytics, business intelligence, merchandising, category management, or sales analytics.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functionalities (PivotTables, Power Query, XLOOKUP); experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics tools is preferred.
- Strong analytical capabilities paired with problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
- A curious approach with a focus on uncovering insights and translating them into actionable recommendations.
Benefits
- Access to a nationally recognized healthcare plan with no deductibles, providing comprehensive and worry-free medical coverage.
- Onsite healthcare clinic available to all employees, offering personalized and convenient care from physicians who prioritize individual attention.
- Comprehensive dental and vision insurance plans, along with disability and life insurance for employee and family protection.
- 401(k) retirement savings plan with company matching contributions.
- Employee assistance programs, paid time off, and flexible spending account options.
