About the Role
The Business Analyst IV position is situated in Toronto, ON, with a hybrid work model requiring two days onsite per week. This is a 6-month contract role within the Governance and Control group of TD Securities, focused on the transition from the existing PRCSA to the new RCSA testing methodology scheduled for 2026–2027. Reporting to the Manager of TDS Governance & Control, the role demands strong stakeholder engagement skills to work effectively across traders, front office personnel, and business units.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain inventories for Value Chain, Assessable Units, and Unique Business Processes.
- Simultaneously evaluate multiple processes, consolidating risks and controls to avoid duplication while identifying gaps.
- Contribute to Risk and Control Self-Assessment documentation and collaborate with risk partners for execution.
- Carry out interim RCSA updates in response to operational risk events.
- Execute key control testing in line with TD methodologies within stipulated deadlines.
- Analyze, report, and monitor control exceptions, and support the creation of remediation plans to address identified internal control weaknesses and root causes.
- Support Key Risk Indicator evaluations and seek opportunities to optimize process efficiency and testing experience.
- Engage in ad-hoc risk management initiatives and assist with process mapping, risk identification, control documentation, and controls placement.
- Conduct business walkthroughs and coordinate with Operational Risk Management, reviewing and validating procedure documents.
- Assess risk levels, recommend appropriate controls, and participate actively in testing during the transition phase.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum two years of comprehensive end-to-end Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of governance, risk, and control frameworks and techniques.
- Previous audit or quality control testing experience and familiarity with TD testing methodologies.
- Proficiency with MS Excel (including formulas), PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.
- Capable of independent work and efficient prioritization under multiple deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate across teams and handle confidential information discreetly.
- Strong analytical abilities and sound judgment regarding decision-making.
- Detail-oriented and adept at multitasking.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in wholesale operations or derivative operations environments.
- Familiarity with ARIS for process mapping and ability to map Assessable Units.
- Knowledge of analytic tools, data analysis methods, and reporting techniques.
- Understanding of TD Securities business operations and processes.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree from a university.
- At least three years of relevant professional experience required; five years preferred in risk, audit, or compliance roles.
- Banking or financial services industry experience favored, especially in wealth or retail banking.
- Operational experience in wholesale operations is an advantage, with some training available.
Additional Information
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, core business hours.
- Travel: Not required.
- Pay Rate: CAD 50 to 60 per hour.
