Role overview

Amazon is looking for a Business Analyst to join the Financial Fraud team in Bengaluru. What you will do

In this position, you will build analytical solutions that support deep-dive investigations, measure operational health, and quantify business impact. You will turn raw data into clear, useful insights for stakeholders across regions and help make those insights easy to access and use.

You will also take ownership of very large datasets from end to end, including creating datasets, reports, dashboards, metadata models, and pipeline monitoring. A key part of the role is working with internal program owners, product teams, and technical partners to understand requirements, develop scalable data solutions, and build a strong understanding of core datasets.

In addition, you will help introduce and adopt new analytics technologies and methods, follow strong industry practices, improve query performance on large and complex datasets, and convert analytical findings into practical recommendations that improve business or product outcomes.

Candidate profile

The right candidate should be confident working with large-scale data, extracting and transforming information with different tools and technologies, and presenting results in a simple and compelling way. You should be comfortable identifying patterns, root causes, and trends, and explaining how they affect the business.

You should also be able to create dashboards and visualizations, apply basic modeling concepts, and work with GenAI technologies where they can improve analytics efficiency. Strong communication and business partnering skills are important, along with the ability to balance multiple priorities, handle ambiguity, and perform well in an agile, fast-moving environment.

Required qualifications

This role requires at least 2 years of experience with Excel, including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, and similar features, as well as data visualization tools such as Tableau. You should also have 2+ years of experience in business or financial analysis.

Experience with defining requirements, using data and metrics to generate business insights, and making recommendations that influence stakeholders is required. A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification is also needed.

Preferred qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, or another technical or quantitative discipline.

Additional strengths include experience with data mining, ETL, and databases in a business setting with large, complex datasets; familiarity with SQL, Python, R, or similar scripting languages; and hands-on experience with reporting and visualization platforms such as QuickSight, Tableau, or Power BI. Experience presenting findings to senior leadership or building financial and operational reports and datasets that support decision-making is also valuable.
