About the Role
Aflac, a Fortune 500 leader in voluntary insurance products, is seeking a Billing Coordinator I based in Columbus, GA. Known for its commitment to integrity, diversity, and customer service, Aflac offers a hybrid work schedule requiring presence in the office at least 60% of the week. This role entails managing premium accounting and billing across multiple group accounts within the Group Voluntary Benefits division.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple group accounts, emphasizing premium accounting and billing accuracy.
- Address overdue payments, resolve billing discrepancies, and handle error corrections including payment collections and member-level issues.
- Reconcile suspense accounts related to assigned accounts.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure precise premium payments and correct application.
- Conduct audits on premium payments to identify and correct inaccuracies or missing payments for clients.
- Provide financial status updates of group accounts to relevant parties.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to resolve various billing and premium-related challenges and communicate outcomes effectively.
- Maintain positive relationships with both internal teams and external clients.
- Participate in account reviews, audits, and implement action plans addressing client concerns, risks, and opportunities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
- Minimum one year of related work experience in the insurance or financial sector, or equivalent education and experience combination.
- Preferred experience includes payroll account management and billing services as well as at least one year of experience handling diverse customer needs.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from $50,000 to $80,000 annually, reflecting factors such as education and experience. Additional incentives may apply but are not included in the stated range.
