Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consistently professional, courteous, and engaging service to guests.
  • Surpass guest expectations through attentive interaction.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of food, alcoholic beverages including beer, wine, and cocktails.
  • Prepare simple drinks and basic cocktails for guest service.
  • Engage with guests in a personable and respectful manner to make them feel valued.
  • Adhere strictly to applicable liquor laws and regulations.
  • Maintain personal and financial accountability regarding bar operations.
  • Manage bar costs effectively and minimize waste.
  • Keep the bar area and preparation spaces clean and well-organized.
  • Complete all closing paperwork thoroughly and accurately.
  • Stay well-informed about menu items and food preparation methods.
  • Proactively assist colleagues as needed.
  • Support managerial staff and assist in operational duties.
  • Be proficient with all hotel service areas and understand available amenities.
  • Have detailed knowledge of on-site food outlets and the hotel’s history and general city information.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the department, hotel, and brand.
  • Maintain consistent and dependable attendance.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Prior customer service experience, preferably in an upscale or luxury environment.
  • Previously worked as a bartender with demonstrable experience.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong organizational abilities.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the capacity to resolve challenges effectively.
  • Highly dependable and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Capable of collaborating within a small team and working autonomously.
  • Focus on guest satisfaction while maintaining composure and professionalism.
  • Completion of relevant server training programs is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout shifts.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying loads up to 30 pounds.
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting activities.
