Band 6 Radiographer

Role Summary

This position requires a skilled radiographer capable of independently managing patient caseloads while delivering top-tier patient care. Responsibilities include comprehensive documentation duties using the EPIC system and Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS) for each patient encounter.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate autonomously with the option to consult senior team members as needed and maintain accountability for professional conduct.
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team environment.
• Engage in supervising and educating Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners, and Student Radiographers.
• Adhere to strict delivery of courteous, high-quality, patient-centered services respecting confidentiality.
• Comply with IR(ME)R Radiation Regulations by verifying clinical justification of referrals balancing patient benefit against radiation exposure.
• Provide prompt and courteous radiographic services tailored to patient's clinical condition and individual needs.
• Undertake advanced training in Computed Tomography modalities.
• Perform unsupervised out-of-hours shifts including team leadership duties as necessary.
• Adjust work priorities with colleagues to accommodate fluctuating diagnostic service demands, particularly emergencies.
• Ensure safe operation and upkeep of imaging equipment, reporting faults appropriately.
• Participate in flexible departmental rotation schedules and multiple site placements as required.
• Report all adverse events in compliance with Trust policies and engage in clinical audits to enhance service quality based on evidence and best practice.
