Position Overview
Quincy University, a member of NCAA Division II and the Great Lakes Valley Conference, is seeking an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach to join their collegiate sports department. This full-time role is based in Quincy, Illinois, and focuses on supporting the athletic programs by enhancing student-athletes' physical conditioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a representative for Quincy University, supporting its mission and values to colleagues, athletes, and the local community.
- Collaborate with the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach to design and implement customized strength and conditioning programs for the university's student-athletes.
- Assist in scheduling and managing team training sessions related to strength and conditioning.
- Oversee the organization and maintenance of the athletic weight room, ensuring all equipment is properly cared for and safe to use.
- Enforce safety protocols within the training facility to maintain a secure environment.
- Maintain current CPR certification and hold or obtain recognized strength and conditioning certifications.
- Comply with policies and regulations of the NCAA, Great Lakes Valley Conference, Quincy University, and adhere to the Code of Ethics for Coaches.
- Undertake any additional tasks assigned by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
- Prior experience in strength and conditioning roles, preferably in a collegiate environment.
- CPR certification and relevant strength and conditioning certification, or the commitment to obtain these credentials in due time.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of student-athletes.
- Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and occasional travel requirements.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range between $32,000 and $35,000.
