Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager plays a key role in supporting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the retail store. This includes ensuring exemplary customer service, meeting sales objectives, and managing the store effectively in the manager's absence.
Core Duties
- Support the Store Manager with managing store operations and supervising staff.
- Assist with merchandising tasks, including unpacking shipments and stocking shelves.
- Deliver excellent customer service and handle complex customer concerns.
- Train and guide employees to enhance their performance and development.
- Execute cash management procedures and perform opening and closing store responsibilities as necessary.
- Delegate tasks within the team and maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
- Conduct performance reviews regularly and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Maintain high visual merchandising standards in the store.
- Handle recruitment and manage employee performance.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two years’ experience working in retail environments.
- At least two years holding supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
- Availability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Strong leadership capabilities combined with effective communication and sound decision-making.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a dynamic setting.
