Role overview
We are looking for a seasoned retail leader who enjoys interior decor and homewares sales to join the Hervey Bay store as an Assistant Store Manager. This is a permanent full-time opportunity in a well-established retail environment.

Training and growth
You will begin with a structured Bright Start induction and, over time, progress toward becoming an Accredited Lighting Consultant. The business provides hands-on coaching, online learning resources, exposure to seasonal product launches, and real opportunities to build a long-term career.
Main responsibilities
In this full-time leadership position, you will work 10 days and 76 hours per fortnight, including every second weekend. Your focus will be to help the Store Manager lift sales and profitability while delivering an excellent customer experience.
- Lead, coach, and motivate the team through practical training and day-to-day support.
- Improve sales across retail, trade, and design channels.
- Deliver knowledgeable and professional service to both retail and trade customers.
- Grow the Trade Loyalty Program and trade account base.
- Make sure every customer receives consistently high-quality service.
- Create appealing product displays and maintain strong merchandising standards.
- Support workplace health and safety standards.
About you
To succeed in this role, you should bring retail or service experience, strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to stay organised in a busy environment. You should also be comfortable motivating others and paying close attention to detail.
Additional requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a retail or service setting.
- Ability to communicate well and build confidence in team members.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A current driver’s licence.
