Overview
StarHub is on the lookout for a proactive SEO Assistant Manager to spearhead organic search and AI visibility initiatives across its digital platforms. This role involves hands-on management of technical SEO during platform transitions, overseeing a dynamic content pipeline, and developing AI and GEO strategies to adapt to the evolving search landscape. The successful candidate will be the main SEO liaison interfacing with product, engineering, and marketing departments, converting strategic plans into actionable directives and tangible results.
Technical SEO Responsibilities
- Manage the health of site crawlability, index status, and Core Web Vitals across several web properties.
- Draft and provide detailed SEO specifications for platform migrations and new website projects.
- Oversee redirect frameworks, maintain sitemap integrity, implement schema markups, and optimize meta tags on a large scale.
- Leverage knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to effectively collaborate with developers and perform quality assurance on SEO implementations.
- Utilize enterprise-level crawling tools such as Botify and Screaming Frog for site audits and continuous monitoring.
Content and On-page SEO
- Coordinate the blog content production cycle, including topic briefing, reviewing, publishing, and ongoing optimization across various themes.
- Incorporate AI solutions like Gemini and Claude into content workflows, applying editorial discretion to ensure high quality and accuracy.
- Innovate content types suited for both user engagement and search engine algorithms, such as structured layouts and product comparisons, optimizing for both traditional and AI-driven search results.
- Develop effective internal linking strategies to bolster topical authority within thematic clusters.
Off-page SEO and Brand Authority
- Formulate and apply link-building tactics through competitor backlink research, partnership opportunities, and digital PR activities.
- Collaborate closely with marketing communications and public relations teams to enhance SEO benefits from brand campaigns, press features, and content through strategic link placement.
- Monitor online brand mentions and capitalize on chances to convert unlinked references into backlinks.
- Manage and verify local SEO elements including citations, directories, and Google Business Profile accuracy for StarHub’s retail outlets.
- Track domain authority and referring domain growth metrics regularly as part of SEO performance reporting.
AI and GEO Visibility Strategy
- Work alongside marcoms and product teams to embed AI discoverability into new web page designs from inception rather than as a retrofit.
- Track and enhance StarHub's footprint across AI-powered search environments such as Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and other emerging language model platforms.
- Implement a structured AI visibility monitoring program focusing on citation frequencies, competitive share of voice, and identifying content gaps where competitors rank.
- Create schema and content approaches that are specifically optimized to be cited in AI-generated answers, emphasizing entity-rich, consumer-focused copy.
- Stay updated on AI platforms' crawling, indexing, and content surfacing methods to inform practical adjustments in site architecture, content formats, and metadata standards.
Required Qualifications
- At least four years of professional experience in SEO with direct responsibility for technical SEO on high-traffic websites.
- Proven expertise in managing platform migrations involving redirects, crawl verification, and post-launch analysis.
- Experience in SEO for e-commerce or transactional websites, dealing with complex catalogue URLs and product listings.
- Proficiency in tools like Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and enterprise crawling software such as Botify or Screaming Frog.
- Adequate skills in producing and deploying JSON-LD schema markups for extensive structured data application.
- Basic but functional understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to interpret code, review implementations, and communicate requirements to developers.
- Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (version 6.3 and Cloud) and Adobe Analytics platforms.
- Experience leveraging AI tools effectively in content creation workflows, with strong editorial judgment.
- Capability to conduct detailed competitor and keyword analysis and translate insights into clear SEO strategies.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience with JavaScript-heavy frameworks such as Vue.js, Nuxt.js, or React and understanding of their SEO challenges.
- Knowledge of AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO practices related to AI overview enhancements and AI visibility tracking.
- Background in telecommunications, e-commerce, or complex multisite environments.
- Experience managing SEO across multiple domains or web properties concurrently.
- Familiarity with Google Merchant Centre and insights into how product feeds, structured data, and free listings influence organic search rankings.
