About the Role
We are seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to bolster our Finance team. This position demands close collaboration with internal teams and headquarters to ensure precise financial reporting while maintaining adherence to local tax and audit regulatory requirements. Your contributions will be vital to the organization's operational efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all finance and accounting functions including accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), general ledger (GL), and fixed assets (FA).
- Manage monthly and annual book closures and prepare detailed reporting schedules.
- Compile accurate financial statements and schedules in line with relevant accounting standards.
- Support and coordinate statutory and tax audits through thorough documentation.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls following accounting standards, company policies, and statutory regulations.
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between systems and financial records, proactively finding solutions to minimize variances.
- Administer accounts payable processes including invoice processing, vendor documentation, vendor data management, and reconciliation tasks.
- Ensure timely processing of vendor, employee, and statutory payments.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill various tax compliance obligations, including data preparation and query resolution.
- Partner with Headquarters Finance and Tax departments to align local practices with group policies and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle, monitor budget-to-actual performance, and analyze variances.
- Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and projections to optimize cash management.
- Act as point of contact for auditors, tax offices, banks, foreign exchange authorities, and other external entities.
- Prepare and present Management Information System (MIS) reports to leadership and business units.
- Identify inefficiencies and contribute to business and system improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing controls and governance.
- Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.
Candidate Profile
- Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional accounting qualification such as Chartered Accountant.
- Possesses at least 6 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and audit coordination.
- In-depth understanding of Indian accounting standards and taxation laws.
- Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and local audit regulations.
- Proficient with Excel, Oracle/SAP systems, and MIS tools.
- Experienced in managing corporate tax and GST compliance processes.
- Adept at handling audit inquiries and coordinating effectively with external auditors.
- Preference for candidates with experience in Big 4 firms or multinational companies and exposure to global teams.
- Detail-oriented with a service-focused attitude ensuring accuracy.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities, especially in liaising with headquarters.
- Knowledgeable about financial process automation and optimization techniques.
