Role Overview

The Assistant Credit Controller plays a vital role in facilitating account reconciliations to improve service quality and ensure timely confirmation processes. The position involves implementing accounts receivable review and reconciliation workflows to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing updates to the Credit Controller regarding reconciliation status and customer account standing.
  • Collaborate proactively with peers to achieve shared objectives and optimize outcomes.
  • Propose and support the implementation of new ideas and improvements with the Credit Controller.
  • Align with organizational values, set personal and team goals, and pursue continuous career development.
  • Distribute statements for credit customers according to SSFL policies and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with Financial Shared Services, Credit Controller, CAM, and Sales teams to acquire timely balance confirmations from sales personnel and credit customers.
  • Prepare reconciliations promptly for all customers, identify discrepancies, and facilitate resolution until closure.
  • Ensure reconciliation reviews are conducted timely with DC finance supervisors, Credit Controller, and CAM, maintaining well-organized records.
  • Compile customer reconciliation summaries, share with regional sales and finance teams, and report to the Credit Controller within deadlines.
  • Follow up to confirm completion of reconciliations in line with OTC timelines.
  • Coordinate with the Revenue Analyst to process CDA variable and fixed credits aligned with deductions.
  • Analyze payment data for OT customers provided by Financial Shared Services, monitor variances, and pursue resolution with sales and customers.
  • Review monthly collection schedules, monitor adherence to long-term agreements, and report payment delays to Key Account Managers and finance teams.
  • Follow up on meeting action points with sales leadership concerning order to cash issues including credit notes, LTAs, and promotions.
  • Maintain summaries highlighting credit terms, balance confirmations, and fixed incentives for OT customers.
  • Engage collection agencies and insurance parties on receivable recovery cases forwarded to them.
  • Provide clear explanations for order holds via CCPF to assist Credit Controller, CAM, and management decisions.
  • Carry out effective control activities including understanding objectives, documenting test scripts, evaluating control effectiveness, maintaining audit trails for third-party review, remediating deficiencies, and reporting verification outcomes.

Performance Metrics

  • Achieve 100% quarterly customer confirmations.
  • Ensure reconciliations are properly organized and filed per internal control standards.
  • Keep action items current and resolved within one business cycle.

Qualifications
