Job Overview
We are looking for a proactive and cooperative Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator to contribute to our child health research initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of care and health outcomes for hospitalized children. The role supports the Social Needs Assistance for Hospitalized Kids (SNAK) Trial, evaluating two hospital interventions targeting families' social and economic needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate one or more clinical trials—either single-site or multi-site—including study initiation, protocol preparation, and setup of data collection tools.
- Collect, interpret, and abstract medical, surgical, and laboratory information pertinent to clinical trial participants.
- Ensure participant eligibility by applying inclusion/exclusion criteria; assist in recruitment, enrollment, scheduling, retention, and registration of study subjects.
- Track and schedule patient visits, tests, and procedures in adherence to protocols, provide patients with schedules, and obtain necessary insurance authorizations.
- Identify, document, code, and report adverse events and toxicities to internal and external regulatory authorities.
- Manage specimen collection, processing, and shipment.
- Maintain accurate and complete research records, including study charts, binders, and supply inventory monitoring.
- Enter, clean, and manage clinical data in study databases ensuring accuracy and timeliness; respond promptly to data quality issues and queries.
- Assist with data analysis, report generation, audit preparations, and attend team meetings as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience or training sufficient to fulfill job duties.
- Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Windows environment.
- Excellent analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.
- Ability to effectively collaborate within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment managing multiple deadlines and projects.
- Ability to establish cooperative relationships with patients, colleagues, and physicians.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience interacting with patients or study subjects.
- Competency in abstracting data from medical records and inputting into data collection systems.
